My second year of freelance beta reading and proofreading

It’s my second business anniversary tomorrow.

In the past year I’ve found:

A supportive community continues to be invaluable.

Mistakes are inevitable so I’ve changed how I react to them. Last year, being told I’d made a mistake in a post would have really shaken my confidence. This year if I do make a mistake, I try to understand why I made it so I don’t make the same mistake again. I now have several checklists and reference books to minimise the risk of making mistakes.

I probably know more than I think I do but it’s always worth double-checking if I’m not completely sure. The checklists and reference books help with this.

A work routine that’s sustainable for me, including knowing when to stop when I’m tired.
