One of the most useful things I own for my freelance business is my whiteboard. I find it easier to think when I handwrite.
It’s a place where I can note down things I need to query with the author, look up or double-check about the manuscript. It’s all written in one place whether something occurs to me as I’m working on the manuscript or it’s ticking away in the back of my mind while I’m doing something else.
I turn these notes into comments or use them as reminders to double-check facts, punctuation or grammar points.
